The Challenge
Create an educational email that helps healthcare professionals recognize acid sphingomyelinase deficiency, an extremely rare inherited condition with a broad range of symptoms and levels of severity. The design needed to organize detailed clinical information, disease classifications, references, and multiple calls to action without overwhelming the reader, while remaining consistent with Sanofi’s visual and regulatory requirements.
The Solution
I created a long-form modular email that guides readers from initial disease awareness through symptoms, historical context, disease classifications, and additional educational resources. A focused purple color system establishes a clear connection to the condition, while patient photography, custom line icons, large-scale typography, and simplified diagrams make complex clinical information easier to scan and understand. Contrasting white content panels and prominent calls to action create visual breaks within the extended layout and direct readers toward additional information and a patient-story video.
The Deliverable
Art Direction, Email Design, Information Hierarchy, Iconography, Production
The Outcome
The final design presents a substantial amount of clinical and educational information within a cohesive, accessible visual narrative. The structured hierarchy allows healthcare professionals to quickly identify key symptoms, understand the ASMD disease spectrum, compare its primary types, and continue to more detailed resources without losing the central disease-awareness message.
